Victim Notification
VINE victim notification (formerly CT SAVIN) is a free, confidential service that provides crime victims and other interested people with automated notification of updates to the status of an offender or defendant's case as it proceeds through the criminal justice system, including changes in Department of Corrections custody status. Notifications are available in English, Polish, Portuguese or Spanish.
The following are examples of status updates that VINE (formerly CT SAVIN) provides to registrants:
- Upcoming court events
- Change in bail
- Issuance, modification, or termination of a criminal or civil court order of protection
- Case jurisdiction transfer
- Notice of probation violation and violation decision
- Defendant failure to appear
- Case disposition
- Filing of an appeal of verdict
- Inmate scheduled to be released from prison
- Inmate parole hearing
- Inmate placement on Department of Correction community release or parole supervision
- Sentence modification hearing
