05/16/2018 Senior Associate Justice Richard N. Palmer has been appointed to the position of Administrative Justice for the Appellate Division, Chief Justice Richard A. Robinson announced today. In this role, Justice Palmer will oversee the division on all matters including personnel, budget, purchasing, facilities, security and information technology. Justice Palmer was appointed to the Supreme Court in March 1993 His biography is available here

08/23/2017 Amendments to the Rules of Appellate Procedure, effective October 8, 2017  
06/26/2017 The Judicial Branch is now posting online headnotes for both Supreme and Appellate Court opinions. These headnotes, which accompany individual Supreme and Appellate Court decisions, include a short summary of the ruling and the procedural history of a case. The Reporter of Judicial Decisions prepares the headnotes, which are not part of the opinion. As such, the opinion alone should be relied upon for the reasoning behind the decision.

08/05/2016 Effective December 1, 2016, the Supreme Court and Appellate Court dockets and assignments will no longer be printed and mailed. See details  
07/08/2016 Effective August 1, 2016, all self-represented parties* and attorneys must e-file all appellate documents in all types of cases unless they have an exclusion from electronic filing requirements. Briefs must be submitted electronically and on paper. More information about Appellate E-filing.
* Incarcerated self-represented parties cannot file appellate documents electronically at this time
