Ziogas, who is retiring. Attorney Cicchetti has served as an assistant clerk for the past 17 years and has also served on various Judicial Branch committees.

01/26/2021 Amendment to the Rules of Appellate Procedure, effective January 26, 2021  
12/02/2020 On Tuesday, December 1, 2020, Governor Ned Lamont issued Executive Order No. 9O, ordering and directing the Resumption of Supreme Court and Appellate Court Requirements or Deadlines and Requirements and Deadlines related to Offers of Compromise. Executive Order No. 9O amends Executive Order No. 7G, Section 2, dated March 9, 2020, and extended by Executive Order No. 9L, Section 1, dated November 9, 2020, to provide that the suspension of the following requirements or deadlines shall expire upon a schedule to be determined by the Chief Court Administrator in consultation with the Chief Justice, but not later than December 15, 2020:

(1) as to the Supreme or Appellate Court only, all statutory time requirements, statutes of limitations or deadlines, including those governing Superior Court filings that affect Supreme or Appellate Court matters, relating to service of process, court proceedings or court filings,

(2) all statutory requirements or deadlines, including those governing Superior Court filings, related to the Supreme Court or the Appellate Court or their officials to issue notices, hold court, hear matters and/or render decisions, and

(3) all time requirements related to offers of compromise as set forth in General Statutes Sections §§ 52-192a and 52-193 through 52-195.

05/16/2018 Senior Associate Justice Richard N. Palmer has been appointed to the position of Administrative Justice for the Appellate Division, Chief Justice Richard A. Robinson announced today. In this role, Justice Palmer will oversee the division on all matters including personnel, budget, purchasing, facilities, security and information technology. Justice Palmer was appointed to the Supreme Court in March 1993. His biography is available here  
10/27/2017 On November 13, 2017, the U.S. Supreme Court’s electronic filing system will begin operation. While paper will remain the official form of filing as under existing practice, parties represented by counsel will also be required to submit most documents through the new electronic filing system. Attorneys who expect to file documents electronically will need to register in advance for the system.

06/26/2017 The Judicial Branch is now posting online headnotes for both Supreme and Appellate Court opinions. These headnotes, which accompany individual Supreme and Appellate Court decisions, include a short summary of the ruling and the procedural history of a case. The Reporter of Judicial Decisions prepares the headnotes, which are not part of the opinion. As such, the opinion alone should be relied upon for the reasoning behind the decision.
