The Judicial Branch, in collaboration with the League of Women Voters, the Museum of Connecticut History and Connecticut’s Old State House, is sponsoring its 4th annual “Day Trips with Kids,” which provides an opportunity for children to have fun while learning about state government.

The next program is scheduled for Tuesday, August 6th
On Tuesday, August 6th, Justice Andrew J. McDonald will conduct three tours of the Supreme Court courtroom, at 9:45 a.m., 10:45 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. Activities will include:CT State Capitol
  1. Connecticut Invents!   Discover many famous and not-so-famous Connecticut inventors and inventions during this hands-on activity, which uses objects and photographs from the Museum’s collection of Connecticut industrial history.
  2. A visit to the State Capitol, a National Historic Landmark, where children will learn about the legislative process while viewing the House and Senate chambers and may also visit the Hall of Flags, where flags carried into battle by Connecticut soldiers are displayed.
  3. CT Supreme Court courtroomA visit to the historic Connecticut Supreme Court courtroom, where the state’s most important legal rulings have occurred over the past century and with an opportunity to meet a justice of the Supreme Court.
  4. A visit to Connecticut’s Old State House, where Connecticut’s democracy was born.
