JUROR STICKERS

Juror stickers will be distributed to you upon arrival.  Stickers must be worn at all times while you are in or about the courthouse.  Stickers must be returned to the Jury Service Assistant (JSA) before leaving the courthouse at the end of the day.

COURTHOUSE

The entire fourth floor of the Hartford Superior Court on Lafayette Street is for jurors.  Jurors must avoid all other areas of the courthouse including courtrooms and juror waiting rooms unless you are assigned to them.

COFFEE/TEA

Coffee (regular and decaf) and tea is provided free of charge.

SMOKING

Smoking is allowed outside of the building.  Speak to the JSA and/or sign out on the board in the JSA office indicating where you are going.

QUIET LOUNGE

This area is used as a quiet lounge and is located under the non-smoking lounge sign.

ELEVATORS

Jurors are to only use the front elevator.  You must be accompanied by a clerk when using the back elevator.

STAIRWAY

Stairways are available to go down only.  Exit door will only open on the first floor.

RESTROOMS

Restrooms are located in the main auditorium just beyond the exit sign on the right.

TELEVISIONS

All programs are available for your viewing except for the news.  Please change the station if news comes on.

PUBLIC PAY TELEPHONES

Pay telephones are available in the jury area.

LUNCH

Lunch is between 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m.  Lunch will be announced by the JSA.  A listing of area food locations is available on the bulletin boards in the table area.  If you choose to bring a lunch, there is a refrigerator and microwave near the vending machines.

CHANGE MACHINE

We DO NOT have a change machine

VENDING TRUCK

You are allowed to go to the vending truck located on the street in front of the building.  Please leave your name in the office before you leave the floor.  The truck leaves at 2:00 p.m.

VENDING MACHINES

Vending machines are located near the table area.  There is a soda and snack machine.  PLEASE BRING CHANGE!!!

CELL PHONES/ BEEPERS/LAPTOPS/RADIO DEVICES, ETC.

Jurors may not bring disruptive items into the courthouse.  A disruptive item includes, but is not limited to, the following:  a radio, boom box, portable television, compact disc player/recorder, cassette player/recorder, or any cell phone equipped with a digital camera.  If you have any questions regarding what to bring, contact Jury Administration at 1-800-842-8175.

ATTENDANCE CERTIFICATES

Jurors receiving credit for serving will be mailed a Certificate of Recognition of Juror Service.

RECYCLE

Please bring empty soda cans into the JSA office.  We recycle!
