Other Civil Matters - Where to File
If the parties reside in the state of Connecticut, civil cases may be filed in the judicial district where either the plaintiff resides or the defendant resides, with exceptions, see Sec. 51-345(a)(3).

If all the parties reside outside of Connecticut, civil cases may be filed in the judicial district where (A) the injury occurred, (B) the transaction occurred, or (C) the property is located or lawfully attached.

For actions involving consumer transactions, small claims matters, housing matters and matters involving land, see previous section(s).
