The Legal Exchange Program is an ongoing activity designed to
implement the Judicial Branch’s goal of improving communication and
collaboration with the Bar. Under the direction of Judicial District
Chief Clerks and Administrative Judges, Legal Exchange Programs took
place throughout the state in fourteen separate judicial
districts. These programs provided forums for discussing local
issues, the impact of new statutes, Practice Book rules, policies
and any issues existing between the clerks’ offices and members of
the Bar. The first round of Legal Exchange Programs started
on March 23, 2009 and ended on August 11, 2009.
The dates for the
second round of Legal Exchanges will be posted on the Judicial
website as they become available with anticipated dates starting in
November of 2009. In each judicial district, separate
sessions will take place for: 1) Civil, Family and Housing, and 2)
Criminal and Juvenile.
The topics for this program will include:
- E-filing changes
- Jury information
- Changes and updates for Civil, Family, Housing,
Criminal and Juvenile practice.
- Other topics will be addressed as proposed by the
Bar and support staff.
